Aishwarya Kumar is a singer and voice teacher, trained in Carnatic, Hindustani and Western classical music. At KM Music Conservatory (founded by AR Rahman) she successfully completed the SVP (Specialist Vocal Performance) programme in 2014, a two-year course offering a comprehensive and detailed study of Western classical vocal performance (e.g. opera, oratorio, recital) under the guidance of Gilles Denizot. Aishwarya was featured as a soloist in Lobby, and #ItsComplicated, two opera productions in 2013 and 2014.
Aishwarya is also a student of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, of the Rampur Shaswan Gharana. Aishwarya Kumar performs regularly with AR Rahman in Europe and India and was a soloist of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra concerts in Glasgow in January 2014. She also frequently sings with Karthik in India and Sri Lanka.
